DR JAMES HARIDY | GASTROENTEROLOGIST & HEPATOLOGIST
MBBS BPhysio MPH(Nutrition) CHIA PhD FRACP

With 20-years’ experience in various healthcare settings both nationally and internationally, James has developed a unique perspective with a strong belief in patient-centred care. Initially gaining qualification as a Physiotherapist via the University of Melbourne and working in Australia and the UK, he later underwent medical training in Western Australia in 2007 before returning to Victoria to undertake physician training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. This was followed by advanced specialist training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy at the Royal Melbourne, Box Hill and Launceston General Hospitals. He concurrently completed a Master of Public Health majoring in nutrition with a particular focus on public health approaches to obesity.
 
Dr Haridy subsequently completed a PhD investigating the use of novel eHealth systems in the management of chronic disease involving specialists and general practitioners in Victoria, South Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania. He has published research in a number of peer-reviewed journals on topics including liver disease, viral hepatitis, coeliac disease and inflammatory bowel disease. He has presented his research at national and international conferences and previously received awards for his research at national conferences. Dr Haridy holds public appointments at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and is actively involved in teaching.
 
With a strong focus on personable, caring and open service, Dr Haridy is passionate about delivering quality healthcare to patients and strong communication to referrers.
